Our Mission

MPEO is a volunteer-led, nonpolitical, nonprofit organization committed to empowering the culturally marginalized Manjo people. [cite_start]We work to bridge the gap between the Manjo community and the broader society through education, collaboration, and advocacy[cite: 40, 41].

To help build a world where the Manjo people are respected and celebrated for their cultural heritage, have equal access to opportunities, and are fully recognized, heard, and valued as part of society.

Education Support

Expanding Access & Opportunities

This year, MPEO expanded educational support across multiple towns and rural communities, providing critical resources to ensure students can focus on learning.

Material Support: Distributed 2,400 exercise books, 600 pens, and 33 school uniforms to students in need.
Exam Readiness: Provided 12 solar lamps to Grade 8 & 12 exam candidates to allow for evening study.
Academic Aid: Delivered 60 reference books to four schools and launched tutoring programs for Grades 3–8.

Faith-Based Collaboration

Breaking Barriers, Building Unity

MPEO works with 10 churches in the Sheka Zone to strengthen unity between Manjo and non-Manjo communities.

[cite_start]Through our training of 86 elders, deacons, and preachers, we have seen connections once considered impossible[cite: 77]. [cite_start]Families now pray together, visit one another’s homes, and share meals—breaking long-standing cultural taboos[cite: 80].
