The Manjo People: A Story of Resilience

The Manjo are an indigenous community living mainly in southwestern Ethiopia. Traditionally respected as beekeepers and forest caretakers, the Manjo today face deep cultural stigmatization and social exclusion.

This marginalization limits their access to education, markets, and community life, keeping many families in persistent poverty. The Manjo People Empowerment Organization (MPEO) was established to address these challenges by promoting dignity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. We work closely with local communities, churches, and partners to confront the root causes of marginalization in a respectful and collaborative way.
